Our Kenya Nyeri Hill AA (reserve series) comes from higher elevation plots on the Nyeri Hill Farm Coffee Estate. This has produced a wonderful roast which tastes bright and sparkling with notes of candied citrus, pear and peach cobbler and smells of candied fruit, cane sugar, and lilies.

The distinct flavor profile of these special beans has earned them–and the expert farmers who worked so hard to grow them–a highly coveted Golden Bean Award medal.

Golden Bean Award Winning Nyeri Hill Coffee Creates Impact

While our Kenya Nyeri Hill AA and AB coffees are from the same farm and have similar packaging, these two coffees each have very different and unique tastes.

Our Kenya Nyeri Hill AA (reserve series) comes from higher elevation plots on the Nyeri Hill Farm Coffee Estate. This higher altitude led to slower coffee cherry ripening, and denser coffee beans with very complex and developed sugars. This high elevation growth has created a wonderful roasted coffee which tastes bright and sparkling with notes of candied citrus, pear and peach cobbler. If you smell closely, you’ll also notice candied fruit, cane sugar, and lilies.

The distinct flavor profile of these special beans has earned them–and the expert farmers who worked so hard to grow them–a highly coveted Golden Bean Award medal. 

For the past century, income from unique coffees like this has helped the Nyeri farming estate establish and maintained various health, education, and pastoral institutions. Within the farm’s precincts, there are over 23 Institutions which include Schools and Colleges, Hospital, Seminaries and early childhood education.

This is the first time we have offered two coffees from the same farm but of different sized beans. Try both the AA and the AB today and let us know which one you prefer!
