Limited Release Natural Ethiopian by Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union

Located in the village of Idido in the Gedeo zone of southern Ethiopia, the Idido Cooperative Union and its more than one thousand members are responsible for producing some of the world’s finest specialty coffee. Its members’ farms are spread throughout the area to the east of the town of Yirgacheffe in a high-altitude valley in southern Sidama. Established in 1975, Idido Cooperative is sanctioned by the Ethiopian government and has been part of the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union since 2002. Idido is able to deliver some of the best quality coffee in the region thanks in large part to its rich volcanic soil and its fortuitous location within the Ethiopian section of the East African Rift.

The Bottom Line

Fans of natural processed coffees will appreciate this limited release Ethiopian coffee for its sweetness and really prominent fruit flavors. Grape notes are distinguishable in this coffee in both the aroma and the taste, and as such, it has been a favorite of customers in our cafes and amongst our baristas.

Thanks to our friends at Cooperative Coffees for helping us share the story of our friends at Idido Union.
