Ethiopian Coffee from Sidama Union

Located in the Sidama region of southern Ethiopia, the Sidama Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union offers finance and technical services to 53 primary cooperative societies and over 80,000 farmers. They are the second largest producer of Ethiopian Sidama coffee. The majority of its member coops are Organic and Fair Trade certified and nearly all of Ethiopian Sidama coffee is grown in the shade of diverse, indigenous trees.

Approximately 5,000 tons of Ethiopian Sidama coffee is produced per year, 95% of which is washed. Harvest time occurs between September to December depending on the coffee’s altitude and rainfall.
