Juerga Organic Decaf Coffee

This unique organic decaf coffee blend transitions seasonally between Honduran coffees in the spring and summer and Peruvian coffees in the fall and winter, to ensure you receive the freshest flavors. Honduran coffee is grown at higher altitudes, which allows for slower growth and an increased mineral and nutrient uptake. This leads to a fuller, more robustly developed flavor of coffee. Peruvian coffees are known for being light-bodied but equally flavorful and aromatic. They’re the perfect complementary choice for our Juerga blend.

Choclately caramel notes pervade our both seasonal offerings. This coffee is only available online and in a few select retail locations; you cannot find this coffee in our cafes. Juerga translates literally to binge, splurge, or good time. You can be gluttonous with this delicious coffee go for it!

Swiss Water Process Decaf Blend

Curious how our organic decaf coffee is created? It’s produced using the Swiss Water Process, which uses the elements of water, temperature and time to create some of the most intriguing decaf coffee. They start with small batches of amazing coffee and green coffee extract, then add local water to clean and hydrate the beans. Green Coffee Extract (GCE) is introduced to the beans, then caffeine ventures out on its own, away from the coffee beans into the GCE. Caffeine and GCE flow continuously through their proprietary carbon filters until all the caffeine is trapped and separated from the GCE.

For the next 10 hours, the Swiss Water Process team continuously monitors time, gauges temperature controls, and checks the levels on the GCE flow. Finally, the decaffeinated green beans are shipped to us so that the beans can be roasted into something special.

Please visit our friends at Swiss Water to learn more about how our Swiss Water Process decaf blend was produced.
