Each year, the coffee producer cooperative COMSA in Marcala, Honduras meticulously organizes a premium lot program to showcase their individual farmers. These lots are limited, experimental and unique. Pedro Turcios’ washed lot from his farm, María Bonita is one of the tastiest lots from COMSA this year. With tasting notes of apricot, plum and hibiscus, this fair trade and organic certified trekker series coffee from Honduras is a standout in our lineup.

Pedro Turcios
From the fertile coffee lands of Marcala, Honduras, producer Pedro Turcios presents a washed lot that is both vibrant and refined. Grown at 1,450 meters from a mix of Lempira, Ihcafe 90, and Catuai varieties, this coffee is a testament to careful cultivation and classic Honduran processing. With a citric brightness and aromas of apricot, plum, and hibiscus, the cup reveals complex layers of coconut, chamomile, and apricot, all carried by a full body.
The washed process highlights clarity and balance, allowing the natural sweetness of the varietals and the regional terroir to shine. By carefully fermenting and washing away the fruit before drying, Pedro has produced a coffee that is both clean and nuanced, offering a lively acidity and a delicate floral edge.
Pedro Turcios’s lot captures the essence of Marcala’s reputation for excellence—bright fruit tones, floral complexity, and a structure that makes the coffee versatile across brewing methods. It is a cup that rewards slow sipping, inviting drinkers to explore its evolving flavors from first sip to last.
Bottom Line
