Each year, we seek out small, exceptional lots that celebrate the art of coffee farming—and few shine as brightly as this premium organic lot from Miguel Padilla Chinguel. Grown in the lush highlands of Cajamarca, Peru, this special prep coffee from Parcel El Romerillo is a limited release and an award winner, having earned 2nd place in Peru’s prestigious Cup of Excellence competition. With captivating notes of citrus, papaya and kiwi, and a cup that reveals jasmine, kiwi and citrus, this is a fruit-forward gem in our reserve lineup.
Miguel Padilla Chinguel cultivates his coffee in the La Coipa District of San Ignacio at 1,898 meters above sea level. On his farm, he grows a diverse mix of varietals including Typica, Caturra, Bourbon, Pache, Catimor, Gesha, and Catuai, all nurtured under certified organic practices. This particular lot is comprised entirely of the Gesha and Bourbon varieties. Miguel is a long-standing partner of the Sol y Café cooperative, which supports quality-focused producers through sustainable and community-driven practices.
This special coffee showcases Miguel’s commitment to craft, quality and excellence. The result is an exceptionally delicate, fruit-forward profile that reflects the very best of northern Peru’s coffee terroir.
