A New Organic Espresso

Espresso Melaza is Amavida’s newest organic espresso blend that offers a radically different flavor profile from our flagship Espresso, Espresso Mandarina. “Melaza” is the Spanish word for molasses, which we find is the perfect word to describe the flavor profile of this exciting addition. We have paired a pulped natural Brazil with a rotating, seasonal washed coffee from Latin America. The result is a dense, chocolaty espresso that has low acidity and a lingering, syrupy finish. We achieve this by stretching the coffees development time while roasting and giving is some extra caramelization to really bring out the sweetness. 

This blend’s organic components change based on harvest cycles to ensure that no matter what time of year a customer decides to order an espresso-based drink, it will be fresh and retain a consistent character. Espresso Melaza is designed to be served with milk, so the blend has been carefully crafted to ensure that it has tons of body and rich, bittersweet flavors to cut through the added texture. However, for the purists, we find that this espresso is unique enough to drink without milk. 

The Bottom Line

Espresso Melaza is full bodied, chocolate forward espresso that incorporates some comfortable flavors that sometimes are missing in specialty coffee shops. This coffee is a crowd pleaser, and if you’ve grown to love our other espressos, this will be a unique experience.
